Quiet Games

Silence rings

Not a sound to be heard

Eyes wide open in search

Of the one who would dare

All unnecessarily holding their breath

In hopes they won’t lose

A muffled giggle here

An inward snort there

Suddenly silence is broken

As the little one shouts

“Uke-a-lady!”

All burst forth in uproarious laughter

Just like that the game has ended

But not for long, as all catch their breath

Someone shouts, “AGAIN!”

And the room goes silent once more
