Goodbye Elmwood

To the place:

  • You drew us to

  • we weren’t quite sure of

  • we actively avoided due to driving distance

  • You challenged me to not be a consumer Christian

  • my heart finally grasped the truth of the gospel

  • where You moved me outside of myself

Thank you. Of course I know it’s just a building - but places hold memories of moments. And while we don’t have a long history there, it’s history enough to have changed us for a lifetime. And for that I am forever grateful for all the moments there. The moments You met us in our need. The moments You moved us from sitting, to standing, to moving… to loving. The moments of precious souls we’ve connected with. The moments of feeling so unseen to feeling seen in the most humbling of ways. These moments will forever sit in my heart + will be brought to mind when we pass by this precious building. Goodbye Elmwood. You were a sweet gift.
