For the Joy
You are in a race.
Run.
Whether you like it or not,
Run.
Run with purpose.
Run with intention.
Run with zeal.
Run with an unstoppable fire in your belly!
•
You’ve already felt the weight of comparision.
Looking at the person next to you, running.
You’ve already run into a tree or fallen into a ditch.
That’s what happens when you take your eyes off of the race.
Get your gaze back on the prize.
•
You’ve experienced the consequences of distraction.
Twisting your ankle Scrolling screens + Movie binging.
Tripping over your feet as you keep yourself busy with every little thing.
Filling your time until there’s nothing extra to give.
Get you mind back in the zone.
•
You’ve experienced every bit of pain. Pain of loss,
Pain of failure,
Pain of self destruction,
Pain of deceit
So much to be felt
So much to be worked through.
But all is used.
Nothing is wasted.
•
Get those eyes back up,
Wipe off those knees,
But keep the tears…
they’ll dry off anyway.
They’re good to feel,
Helps you feel alive.
Just keep running.
•
In the morning,
Run.
In the evening,
Run.
In the scary,
Run.
In the joy,
Run.
Run through it all!
Just don’t keep the glory,
Give it away
And just feel the joy of the race of living.
“Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us,”
Hebrews 12:1
